Mansfield Private Reserve
The 3-star Mansfield Private Reserve is situated along the Kowie River, approximately 11 kilometres from Port Alfred. The vegetation and animal life are typical of Eastern Cape bushveld. The indigenous aloe grows in abundance on the farm.
The reserve is also popular with day visitors. For a small fee, enjoy a self-guided game drive or braai at one of the designated picnic spots near the swimming pool.

Farmhouse
The farmhouse can sleep up to 6 guests. The 3 rooms are each furnished with double bed. 2 of the 3 rooms are en-suite. The spacious lodge, powered by conventional electricity, is also made up of a large kitchen and living area with TV with selected DSTV channels. Facilities include a private swimming pool and braai area.
Cottage
The cottage can sleep up to 4 guests. The layout is open plan, with fully equipped kitchen and lounge with TV with selected DSTV channels. The living area opens onto a private “stoep” with braai. The 2 rooms are each furnished with double bed. A separate bathroom is equipped with shower. The cottage is powered by conventional electricity.
Eagle’s Nest Cabin
Eagle’s Nest Cabin, our off-the-grid log cabin, is situated privately on the reserve. The layout is open-plan. Furnishings include a double bed, a bunk bed, and a small couch. The cabin can sleep up to 4 guests. Amenities include braai facilities, a kitchenette with small gas hob and fridge, and a bathroom with shower. Hot water to the shower is powered by a gas geyser. Battery-operated lights and paraffin lamps provide lighting and a small power bank is provided for cellphone charging.
Platforms
The basic outdoor platforms, with gas geyser, shower and toilet, provide primitive camping-style shelter in the bush. Platforms, with bunk beds and mattresses, can sleep up to 10 guests. Generated power is available upon request, at an hourly rate.
Camp Sites
The camp sites are situated a mere 50 metres from the Kowie River. Facilities include communal open-air ablutions with toilets and hot water showers, as well as braai facilities. Generated power is available upon request, at an hourly rate.
